Put a NoFollow attribute to your affiliate link to prevent de-indexing from Google
Why nofollow attribute for affiliate links?
If you have affiliate links in your web pages, best is to put a nofollow tag so that this page would not be de-indexed by Google. Google would be pleased.
If Google see an affiliate link in your page, you page would likely be down graded, worst is de-indexed.
This is an example of how to do the no follow tag, just to put in this rel=”nofollow” :
<a href="www.AffiliateLink/?r=name" rel="nofollow">Click Here</a>
Google intention is logical. They don’t want to pass link reputation to
the affiliate program by 1000s of affiliate links from affiliates.
Putting a nofollow tag would allow Google to solve that issue. If you
don’t put in this nofollow tag, Google would solve it by probably not indexing your web page.
Google wants relevant content, not sales page, too many of
these affiliate links passing link reputation to the affiliate program
would dilute the relevancy of search.
If you don’t want your web page to be dropped by Google, ensure that
all affiliate links are added with the nofollow tag.
